Unfavorable weather shortened construction this week, with rain cancelling Washington Gas' activities on Thursday and Friday. Trench excavation and pipe placement continued west, however, with approximately 735 feet of pipe installed as of Wednesday.
Preparations are well underway to start stream restoration activities later this month. On Wednesday, representatives from DDOT and the National Park Service visited two quarries in Leesburg, Virginia to inspect sources of stone for the new stream features. The floor of the quarry was partially flooded due to heavy overnight rain.
